Veteran’s Day 2014
Lately, my eyes have been opened to the sacrifices so many have made for the freedoms within our country. Often times we become so consumed with our daily activities and busy schedules that we forget to pause and appreciate what we have been given as a human being in America. Many have sacrificed so much, up to and including their lives. When they make a commitment within our military, they are essentially laying down their lives for you and for me, without any hesitation and without even knowing who we are.
This thought brings me to tears, and causes my heart to swell. As Americans, we should be moved by the integrity and character so many men and women have sought to uphold by being in the military. From the early wars, to world wars, and even now as we battle things occurring in the Middle East, our soldiers hold fast and embrace the destiny to protect, honor, and defend the United States of America at whatever cost. They're are moms, dads, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives, cousins, friends, and neighbors. They are human beings with names, and they play a significant role in our lives on a regular basis. Let's honor them today, but not just leave it for one day a year. Let's remember and appreciate every single day the new opportunities we have been given because of their sacrifice. We must allow actions and daily lives be a testimony to the appreciation we have for these men and women.
